What could be better than sipping some bubbly while watching the sun set behind the island of Molokai, surrounded by the aqua colored Pacific? Answer - Nothing!
So, I decided to take Driftwood's online store manager, photographer, and all-around rad girl, Jazmin, and runner, model and back flipper, Maya, on a sojourn to the Westside to visit the Champagne Hale at Cliff House in Kapalua.

Nestled on the cliff of Namalu Bay, Kapalua, Cliff House was originally built in the 1940's as a recreation facility for the managers of the Honolulu Pineapple Plantation.
It was used as a space to relax while enjoying the glorious sunsets, and the calm, beautiful waters of the bay. For 70ish years this cliff hanging beach shack remained largely unchanged until 2009 when it was renovated by the Montage Kapalua Bay Hotel.
Today Cliff House still retains its charm of yesteryear but has a new and improved modern interior, featuring floor to ceiling retractable glass doors.
This summer, Montage Kapalua Bay in partnership with Veuve Clicquot, re-created this tiny wonder as “The Champagne Hale at Cliff House”, a pop-up bar and lounge, for guest and locals to experience this historic beachfront venue in all its glory.
Montage Kapalua Bay crafted a refreshing summer menu of island inspired pupus, including Oyster in the Half Shell, and our favorite Tuna Poke with Soy, Ginger and Avocado. Veuve Clicquot’s signature Yellow Label Rosé and La Grande Dame are available by the glass as well as a special "sunset tasting flight.” We loved it all, but especially the Veuve Clicquot Rich served over ice with grapefruit.

The whole experience was a pure delight. In fact, I haven’t stopped thinking about that refreshing afternoon since, and I'm feeling itchy to jump off those cliffs again. Westside here we come....
